What do I enter to convert a length?
- Direction — Centimetres → Inches or Inches → Centimetres. It sets which unit you type in.

How to convert centimetres to inches
Divide the length in centimetres by the exact conversion factor:
inches = centimetres ÷ 2.54
- One inch is defined as exactly 2.54 centimetres.

How the feet and inches breakdown works
Take the total inches, divide by 12 and drop the fraction to get whole feet. Whatever is left over is the remaining inches:
feet = floor(total inches ÷ 12)
remaining inches = total inches − (feet × 12)
For 39.37 total inches: 39.37 ÷ 12 = 3 feet, with 39.37 − 36 = 3.37 inches left over.
