What is getcalculating.com?

It is a set of free calculators covering finance, health, math, everyday, conversion, construction, physics, business, engineering and travel. There are 96 calculators on the site today, and more are added regularly. Every tool is free, needs no sign-up, and runs entirely in your browser: you get an instant result, a full breakdown, and the formula it used so you can check it yourself.

The whole site is designed around speed and clarity. Pages are static HTML with almost no JavaScript, so they open immediately even on a slow connection, and each calculator is built to be readable and usable on a small screen.

Who builds it?

One person, as an independent side project. There is no company, no team, no investors and no office — it is a small project that grows a bit at a time. It is not yet a registered business; that step will come if and when it earns enough from advertising to be worth formalising, and this page and the privacy policy will be updated when it does.

There is no invented backstory or list of credentials here on purpose. The calculators are meant to stand on their working: the formula and its assumptions are stated on each page so you can see exactly how a number was produced.

Is this a UK site or an international one?

Both, depending on the tool. Some calculators follow UK rules specifically — Stamp Duty and take-home pay, for example — and are labelled as UK calculators because the maths only makes sense for one country. Most others work anywhere: mortgage and loan tools let you pick your currency, and anything involving length, weight, area, volume or temperature offers a metric or imperial mode with genuine local units on each side.

How do the calculators work?

Every calculation happens on your device. Nothing you type into a calculator is sent to a server or stored anywhere — the page ships the formula, and your browser does the arithmetic as you type. Your unit and currency preferences are kept in your browser so the next calculator remembers them, and that is the only thing the site stores. The privacy policy covers this in full.

Suggestions and corrections
